Inspiring experience

- TEMPORARILY CLOSED -

Immerse yourself in the island's economic past as you walk along the outer edge of this former 18th-century irrigation canal. This marvellous site invites you to take a 1.5-hour linear tour, during which you'll walk along the narrow wall bordering the canal; the tour can be completed in 3 hours round trip, and offers a bird's-eye view of the Carbet River and private plantations of Anthurium, Alpinias, Roses de Porcelaine and Oiseaux de Paradis. Accessible via Bout Bois-Carbet or Fonds Mascret-Fonds-St-Denis. The edge of the canal is only 30 cm in places and can be very slippery in wet weather, so take care. AVOID FOR PEOPLE PRONE TO VERTIGO AND GROUPS OF UNTRAINED CHILDREN.
