Back by popular demand after her explosive performance at the REGGAE WOMEN'S SHOW in March 2024, we're pleased to announce the return of Scena aka @sistascenario to the REGGAE THERAPY FESTIVAL 2025 stage. Scena is a Martiniquan artist of Haitian origin, who emerged into the world of Reggae Dancehall at an early age. Born into a Christian family steeped in gospel music, she began solo and piano lessons at Sermac at the age of 8. She went on to perfect her skills at the Institut des Arts et du Spectacle (IFAS) and the Ecole de Formation de Musique in Lille (EF2N). She has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Tania Stephens, Sizzla, Shabba Ranks and Queen Ifrica, and has racked up a string of singles, including the famous Kriminel and Pa Kouri on the Shatta Bomb Riddim, Pwesyon , Blessed Love ... His prolific collaborations and appearances on numerous compilations have strengthened his presence in the music industry. As a backing singer for Paille, Kalash, Mc Janik, Straika D, Tiwony for many years, she has travelled the globe, enriching her musical career. Scena aka Sista Scenario, is a militant and committed artist who has been a fixture on the Martinican scene for many years, and we're proud to have her with us for this edition. A pillar of the movement in Martinique, @vege_dan began music in 1986 with the group Moko, while at the same time playing in the Krahme N'Kruma sound system with Pupa Leslie, Bunny Dread, Aldo B and Little Dany. In 1991, he was one of the founding members of Ragga Dub Force with Mosiah Levy and Big, and appeared on his first commercial hit, Education, on the BMG Ariola Arista album Ragga Dub Force Massive, one of the first Martinican Reggae Dancehall artists to sign with a major label. This was followed by a tour of over 30 dates throughout France, ending in the Antilles Guyane with the great Mechant Ragga produced by Jacob Devarieux. On his return to Martinique in 1994, he was one of the 4 singers in the group RuffNeg (Admiral Leidy aka Matinda di Lion, Kulu Ganja aka Shark T Ganja and Daddy Pleen aka Pyroman) for 3 highly successful albums in the French West Indies, the first of which sold over 50,000 copies and was produced by Don Miguel on the Don's Music label. He resumed his solo career in 2000 with the single Sound System and founded the group Heartikal Grouv', followed by his first live studio album Rastafari. In 2009, he released his second solo album, La famille, with the hit Repatriation, produced by his son @wes.gy for the Good Vibes Label. He is also co-organizer of Marley's Marathon, the must-attend Bob Marley tribute event created in 1998 and running until 2019. In 2023 he will perform at the Atrium, and in 2024 he will record his latest track Sanble ko nou dan lanmou on the Libete Riddim. It's a pleasure to welcome this artist, who has been promoting REGGAE MUSIC in Martinique for almost 40 years, to our festival. Born in 1980 in Portmore under the name Clifford Taylor, he sang his first notes at the age of 7. He joined a singing/deejaying group called Vibes Machine and performed in various nightclubs. When the other band members didn't show up for a gig one night, I Wayne played alone. Encouraged and heartened by the audience's positive reaction, he decided to pursue a solo career I WAYNE later became one of Jamaica's leading Rastafarian reggae artists, committed to raising awareness and conveying uncompromising convictions through his music. Notably, he named his third album for VPREC Life Teachings and explained: We share the joys and messages of life, that's why we call the album Life Teachings It's unlimited, because I work for life and will continue to do life's work. That's what I WAYNE is all about! He built his reputation by burning lyrical fire on a multitude of societal ills : from prostitution to child infestation to skin bleaching, though his sweet, high-pitched vocals don't match these denunciations In 2005, his hit Can't Satisfy Her , deftly tells the story of a troubled young woman who began strip dancing before she turned eleven; the song reached No. 31 on Billboard's R&B/Hip---Hop Songs chart and became a global TUBE. He uses his penchant to impart various lessons throughout Life Teaching , extolls the herb of Rastafari ( Herb Fi Legalize ) , rejects materialism ( Wiseand Ferles ) , predicts the imminent fall of Babylon ( Burn Down Soddom ) , refers to the thoughts of Marcus Garvey and Rastafarian deity Haile Selassie ( Change Them Ways ) , and rails against the violence associated with drug and rum vibes ... A true legend of dancehall reggae, @waynewondermusic made his musical debut some forty years ago. He began singing in church and discovered reggae in the sound systems of his neighborhood. He was launched by King Tubby and then Lloyd Dennis, who produced his first album, No More Chance. Shortly afterwards, he took part in the development of the Penthouse label, introducing Buju Banton, with whom he recorded a magical first duet, Bonnafide Love, which was a real success! To this day, no West Indian can remain unmoved by the first notes of this hit. The rest is history, with the release of the planetary hit No Letting Go in collaboration with Lenky, producer of the Diwali Riddim, which instantly propelled Wayne Wonder close to the stars of this musical genre. Joyride , Bashment Gal , Anything Goes , I Still Believe , love and affection , Gonna Love U Bounce Along , Saddest Day etc etc etc So many hits that place @waynewondermusic at the top of the Reggae Dancehall artistic hierarchy Walla Walla Committed and militant artist @guy_al_mc is one of the precursors of the reggae/dancehall scene in Martinique.
