Have you ever tried graffiti? You can this Saturday morning. It’s at Urban Studio, in the Village de la Poterie. It’s our gallery, and it’s also Doudou’s studio, so you’ll be working surrounded by canvases and art supplies. It’s a great place to get started. Doudou Style leads the workshop. She’s been creating murals in Martinique for years and has worked for McDonald’s and Visa. With a maximum of six participants, she has plenty of time to give everyone individual attention. We start outside, on the wall. She puts a spray can in your hand and shows you the basics: how to shake it, how far away to stand, how to press down, and which direction to hold the can to make a thin line or to fill in an area. You practice right on the wall. You’ll make some drips—that’s normal; everyone does it at first. Then you go inside and create your graffiti on a 40-by-60 wooden panel. Your first name, your tag, a character—whatever you want. Doudou will stop by and help you if you get stuck, but she won’t do the work for you—so it’s truly your own creation. You’ll take it home with you. 49.90 EUR per person, all-inclusive: spray cans, nozzles, panel, gloves, mask. No extra charges on-site. OPTIONAL: If you want to keep going at home, at the end of the session we’ll offer you 3 partially used spray cans (left over from our projects) with a new cap for 15 EUR. This is truly optional—we don’t force anyone. Birthdays, bachelorette parties, outings with coworkers: we can host a private event on a Saturday—just email us. School groups and recreation centers: we do that too, and it’s eligible for the Pass Culture. INFO: Ages 10 and up, with one registered adult. No drawing experience required—most people who come don’t know how to draw. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy.
