Bernard DAVID was a Cure-Historien from 1970 to 1998 in Le Diamant, who donated his documentary holdings and collection of traditional heritage objects to the Commune. On the ground floor, the permanent exhibition room deals with the history of Le Diamant through the collection of Bernard DAVID and donors from Martinique, presenting : - The Amerindians and archaeological pieces of pre-Columbian art found in Le Diamant. - La Canne a sucre et l'Habitation sucriere et ses formes a sucre - Medard ARIBOT's biography and art collection. - From the Rocher area, enriched with videotransmission of the avian fauna via cameras placed on the Diamond Rock. http://www.rocherdudiamant.com/ - Traditional domestic objects On the first floor, there are : - Bernard DAVID's personal library of 1854 works, including his publications (les proverbes creoles, le dictionnaire biographique du Clerge, ... and all his research into the history of Le Diamant and Martinique (the genealogy of the Carole and Saint-Aime families, immigrants, La traite negriere a destination de Martinique 1698-1794...).
