OPENING OF THE "LESPRI MAWO-TEK" EXHIBITION AT THE MEDIA LIBRARY, RIVIERE SALEE
03 July 2026
Rivière-Salée

Introduction It’s been two years already… since two gazes met through the medium of painting… Two worlds (United—Verses)… Two breaths… Two ways of inhabiting color One brings forth the warmth of ochres, reds, and golds Like a memory of the sun The other seeks, within the material, the discreet traces of the invisible, the echo of unanswered questions... Between them... a bridge...poetic and pictorial, where the eye plunges into the understanding of “Who are you…?” And… of “Who am I”… We no longer worry, as hesitation becomes the mother (sea) that washes away doubts... Friendship having taken root... Gently... like a tree that grows... silently... Since then... the canvases respond to one another... Color meets silence... Light dialogues with... shadow... And each work extends a conversation (confidences) begun long before words... For painting... perhaps that is what it is... To offer... To offer to the Other Horizon... To discover... that at the end of the path... we were looking... Already.... The same Sky... Biography Francois Philippe ASTAR Passionate about photography and painting. Through his photographs, he highlights the different facets of Martinique’s heritage and nature. Through his painting, he questions who we are and where we are headed. Christian PRESENT is a Poet—a self-taught painter since 2019. Urgency is the primary matter. Matter is, the world-cry is. There is the moment and the insistence on capturing the cellular effervescence.
