However, Ina Césaire clarifies in her introduction that this is not a historical play, but rather an intimate one. Indeed, *Rosanie Soleil* is first and foremost a play about women—women connected to one another as well as to the outside world. Each seeks to conceal her own involvement in historical events to protect the others. It is therefore also a play about what is said and what is left unsaid, about Caribbean oral expression that weaves proverbs, metaphors, and allusions into the narrative...Violence will attempt to intrude upon the world of the four characters: the mother, Man Soleil; her two daughters, Rosanie and Einasor, her opposite twin counterparts; and the neighbor Fumee, who appears to have lost her mind. In a fun and creative atmosphere, young participants can discover the joys of acting, develop their imagination, and build self-confidence while having fun. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore theater through expression, movement, and the joy of performing together.
