A place of remembrance and testimony to the life of Aimé Césaire. Aimé Césaire, a Martinican man of letters and politician, worked in this office first as mayor and later as honorary mayor of the city of Fort-de-France. Inaugurated on June 26, 2013—the date of his 100th birthday—the Aimé Césaire Office welcomes you on the first floor of the former City Hall. This is the first exhibition of what is shaping up to be a particularly busy fall for me. I’m delighted to present, at the Cabinet Medical Etang Z’Abricot in Fort-de-France, a selection from the *Surface/Interior* series, which explores layers, openness, and what lies beneath the surface.
