A lineup. Comedians and the unexpected. Ubuntu Comedy Night is a bi-monthly stand-up event held in the intimate setting of Ubuntu. The concept? A mystery lineup. The lineup remains a secret until the show begins. At each event, 4 to 6 local and/or international comedians—both newcomers and seasoned performers—take the stage one after another to share their world with you, along with their best and worst jokes. Here, there’s no set program to follow: every night is different. Some come to hone their material, others to test new ideas, and still others simply to set the house on fire. One thing is certain: you won’t know who you’ll be seeing until the show begins. Please note: No seats will be reserved within 10 minutes of the show’s start. Want to get on stage? The City of Saint-Joseph presents a theatrical reading led by actress Rita Ravier, based on the text by Bernard Lagier. This work traces the life of Lumina Sophie, known as Surprise, an iconic figure of the 1870 Southern Uprising.
