On the southern tip of the island, lurking at the end of a splendid cul-de-sac bay and just a stone's throw from the finest beaches, Le Marin is a favorite spot for boating and yachting.
Largely focused on tourism, the town boasts several labels and rankings: Station Nautique, Station Voile, and Commune Touristique. The administrative capital of the south, Le Marin is one of Martinique's three sub-prefectures.
It's marina, one of the largest in the Caribbeanwith over 700 berths, quality infrastructures and numerous ancillary services, is a true welcoming place for yachtsmen. Well protected from the swell, it is ideally located for cruises in the southern Caribbean in particular.
Classed as a "Commune Touristique", Le Marin boasts a number of assets: its lively marina, its 17th-century Jesuit-style church, one of the oldest in Martinique, its diverse natural sites, its 360° viewpoints, the magnificent surrounding beaches (Anse Macabou, Cap Macré, Cap Ferré or Cap Chevalier) not to mention an array of activities: cultural events, water sports, traditional sailing, hiking....
Another special feature, Le Marin is with its southern neighbor, Sainte-Anne, one of only two communes on the island to benefit from both a Caribbean and an Atlantic coastline.
