Rejuvenating experience
The Vatable site is located in the Forêt Domaniale du Littoral, in the commune of Les Trois Ilets.
Developed in the 60s (reforestation) and 80s (tourist facilities), this reception area managed by the ONF was refurbished between 2013 and 2014, and is now accessible to people with reduced mobility. This peri-urban forest, on the edge of the mangrove swamps of Génipa Bay, is mainly made up of small-leaf mahoganies. The site offers a wide range of facilities, including picnic areas, wooden walkways, an amphitheatre decorated by an artist, carbets and more. The site is popular with families, schoolchildren, walkers and sports enthusiasts.
The footpath offers a pleasant view of the Habitation Vatable, Gros Ilets and the bay of Fort de France.
