Tourism innovation and experimental fields

TEXT AND CHALLENGES

The innovation ecosystem in Martinique is creative and dynamic, and requires support and synergy with tourism professionals in order to meet their specific expectations and needs. 
Presentation MIT:
In order to best respond to this need, the Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme wishes to encourage and support identified startups in the realization of innovative and original projects in the field of tourism, which enable a fun and eco-responsible discovery of Martinique, through a dedicated support structure, Martinique Innovation Tourisme.
The CMT invites all project leaders to submit their applications under this Call for Expressions of Interest.
This AMI launched by the CMT is part of an approach to improving the quality of the offer, guaranteeing shared profitability, sustainability and strengthening the legibility of Martinique on these 4 development axes of its tourism offer (markers): Nature and discovery - Seaside and water sports - Culture and heritage - Gastronomy and spiritourism. 

GOALS OF THE AMI

The Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme wishes to select and support one or more project leaders who would meet the challenges described below:
-    Accompany the tourism sector in its necessary triple mutation: energy, digital and environmental;
-    Offer visitors an enriching, interactive or instructive experience;
-    Enhance and promote the destination's natural, cultural and historical heritage, through the development of innovative and structuring activities or actions;
-    Raise young people's awareness of tourism professions;
-   Optimize training for tourism sector personnel;
-   Act in favor of local employment (maintenance/creation) ;
-    Participate in the development of sustainable tourism ;
-    Have an economically viable project.

MODALITIES OF SUPPORT

Depending on the budget, the CMT has the opportunity to support a maximum of 4 projects:
Maximum CMT financial contribution per project: €20,000
Each candidate applying for the AMI must have the capacity to pilot and finalize the operational deployment of their project, by 30/11/2026 at the latest

Each candidate applying for the AMI must be able to justify a legal structure (company, association, start-up, SAS, auto-entreprise....A partnership agreement will be drawn up between the CMT and the selected project leader, defining the commitments of both parties.

The CMT and the selected project leader will enter into a partnership agreement.

RECIPROCIOUS ENGAGEMENTS

The Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme undertakes with regard to the candidates designated as winners of the AMI, to:
-    Promote them in its communications;
-    Mention their projects on its website and social networks;
-   Give them visibility within Martinique's tourism ecosystem (meetings with potential partners) ;
-    Support them in market research or strategic analysis, in the necessary communication or publication costs.
Winning candidates undertake, once designated, to:
-    Implement the resources required to carry out the experiment, which must take place within the year in which the CMT support is validated;
-   Use the aid allocated solely for the realization of the project and declare that they are informed that they cannot, with the formal prohibition of the CMT, transfer all or part of the said aid to other organizations ;    
-    Follow the Data linked to their projects:
-    Assess the interest of experimentation projects among players in the Martinique tourism ecosystem and/or the territory's tourism clientele;
-    Identify the level of attractiveness of each of the innovation projects and this by country of the outbound territories,
-     Promotion of the destination :
-   Valuing Martinique through experimentation that is linked to a given marker. 
-    Press/public relations:
-    Announce CMT's support in various communications related to the experimentation and increased project visibility;
-    Mention the partnership and thank CMT in press releases.

-    Brand M :
-   Mention the Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme (CMT) on the trial website as an official partner;
-    Display the "M" logo on printed materials (flyers, brochures, promotional items) as well as on digital media (websites, mobile applications, newsletters) ;
-    Broadcast Martinique's promotional videos during meetings to present the experimentation;
-    Mention the CMT in promotional campaigns linked to the experimentation (radio, TV, press) ;
-    Publish posts dedicated to the partnership on the experimentation's social networks as soon as the CMT announces the selection and throughout the experimentation's implementation;
-    Place the official hashtags #GoMartinique, #LaMartinique, #Martiniqualité ;
-    Place the mention @comitemartiniquaisdutourisme on Facebook and LinkedIn ;
-    Place CMT POS at events and press conferences.

-    Operational and financial monitoring of the experiment:
-    Facilitate the CMT's control of the use of allocated funds: financial balance sheet + receipted invoices (supporting documents to be provided to the CMT).

Failure to comply with the provisions of Article IV could, by unilateral decision of the Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme, result in the cancellation of the partnership.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1.    Who can apply?
-   Project promoters can be associations or companies with at least 6 months' activity at the time of application. Projects must have a direct impact on the Martinique region and meet the challenges and objectives set by the Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme;
-    The innovative project must generate spin-offs that make a positive contribution to the ecosystem in which it takes place (sector, region, industry, community of users...);

-    The aid allocated by the CMT must not generate a competitive advantage that could be deemed unfair by other companies in the same sector ;

-    Project sponsors must be in compliance with their tax and social security obligations (supporting documents to be provided when the application is submitted).

2.    Eligibility of expenses
Only expenses necessary for the execution of the selected projects, directly attributable to the latter and resulting from its implementation, will be eligible: expertise, consultancy, communication, logistics, etc.
Expenditure on material investment, nor provisions for future or possible aid, are not eligible.
Winners will have a complementary exchange with CMT teams to ensure the eligibility of each of the expenses indicated.

3.   AMI declared unsuccessful
If no project meets the conditions of this AMI, the Bureau of the Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme reserves the right to declare it unsuccessful.
 

SELECTION CRITERIA

Project applications will be assessed according to the following criteria:

Criteria, weighting, points : 
Innovative nature of the experiment; weighting : 5; points from 1 to 5
Promotion of at least 1 of the territory's 4 tourism markers; weighting 4 ; points from 1 to 5
Presumed impact on Martinique's tourism ecosystem; weighting 5; points from 1 to 5
Responses to the territory's tourism challenges: cyclicality of activity, structuring of sectors, reinforcement of the territory's visibility...; weighting 4; points from 1 to 5
Response to the requirements of sustainable tourism; weighting 2 ; points from 1 to 5


A technical committee made up of representatives of public and private tourism institutions will establish an initial selection of 15 projects following presentations made by the bearers (pitches).
Then, the Bureau of the Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme will make the final decision to select 4 winning projects, which will be supported according to the eligibility criteria.
Information and communication on the CMT's Call for Expressions of Interest will take place via the Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme's institutional social networks and the press.

1.1    Procedure (submission of application)
The selection procedure is based on the examination by the technical selection committee of applications, the contents of which must necessarily consist of a letter presenting the experiment, the completed attached file (appendix 1), together with the articles of association of the company or association and a RIB.

1.2   Timetable

  • Launch of the AMI: October 24, 2025 on the CMT website www.martinique.org, on the CMT's Facebook and LinkedIn social networks.
  • Application deadline: November 28, 2025, in electronic format only, at https://cmt972.fr/ami-innovation
  • Checking the eligibility of applicant companies' expenditure against the above criteria: December 1, 2025 to December 10, 2025.
  • Announcement of AMI winners and agreement with CMT: 1st half of December 2025.
     

CONFIDENTIALITY

Documents submitted by candidates in the context of this Call for Expressions of Interest are subject to the strictest confidentiality and will only be submitted to the Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme for appraisal, then decision.
