On the beach

Plage du Diamant. A long white-sand beach facing the famous Diamond Rock. The most scenic spot is reportedly at the exit of the town toward Les Anses d'Arlet, near Habitation Dizac. Check local permissions before planning a private ceremony on a public beach.
Ti Sable, Grande Anse d'Arlet. A beachfront spot with sand garden, beach access, bar, and local and French cuisine. It is casual-chic with your feet in the sand.
Hôtel Bakoua, Les Trois-Îlets. Offers ceremony options on the beach or on a deck, plus a garden and a reception room.
Bambou Resort, Les Trois-Îlets. A reception room for up to 400 guests, with a beach and terrace that can be privatised in the evening for a cocktail or dinner.

Domaine Saint Aubin, La Trinité. A former 18th-century sugar estate turned prestigious reception venue. It offers views over the bay of Fort-de-France, a reception room, terrace and pool. One local photographer lists its capacity at 50 to 200 guests.
Habitation Anse à l'Âne, Les Trois-Îlets. A private 90-hectare estate that can host up to 500 guests, with four reception spaces, a beach 400 m away, and six bedrooms (twelve beds) for the couple and their family.
Habitation Beau Pays. A former farming estate with a colonial-style house in a wooded, flower-filled garden, offering a bohemian, natural feel.
Habitation Clément, Le François. A heritage sugar and rum estate with shaded avenues, good for cultural-flavoured receptions.
La Sucrerie, Sainte-Anne. Hosts weddings of up to 220 guests, supervised by wedding planners.

Les Villas du Lagon, Le François. Offers wedding formulas for up to 80 guests, facing the coral barrier.

Picture-perfect spots to capture your love

Martinique changes scenery every half hour by car: black-sand coves, white-sand beaches, botanical gardens, colourful village streets and cliffs. This makes it easy to plan a couple session that looks different from one shot to the next. Whichever spots you choose, ask your photographer about timing. Late afternoon light is usually the most flattering, while midday sun creates harsh shadows.

Beaches

Grande Anse des Salines (Sainte-Anne). Often described as the biggest and most beautiful beach on the island. It is a classic for barefoot, windswept portraits at the water's edge.
Plage du Diamant. A vantage point where the sunset, the Diamond Rock and the couple can be framed together in a single shot.
Anse Couleuvre. A wide black-sand beach with tall palms and jungle-covered cliffs. One local photographer calls it one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, notes that the sun sets in front of it, and says it is rarely crowded on weekdays. A waterfall nearby, the Cascade Couleuvre, has also been used for couple sessions.
Anse Noire (Les Anses d'Arlet). Described as the only black-sand beach in the south, with a striking contrast between dark sand and clear water. It works in the morning or late afternoon.
Anse Michel. Known for its turquoise water and palm trees, and for a suspended "nest" installation. Best in late afternoon.
Les Anses d'Arlet village beach and pier. The village was voted the second favourite village of the French in 2020, and its beach and pier (ponton) are popular photo settings.
Anse Mitan, near Les Trois-Îlets. Another white-sand beach with clear views of the Caribbean Sea.
The "fonds blancs" (Le François). The shallow white sandbars in the lagoon give an unreal turquoise backdrop, reached by boat.

Jardin De Balata Fort-de-france

The Jardin de Balata is one of Martinique's must-see sites, classified as a Remarkable Garden and awarded several times by Tripadvisor. Located on the Route de la Trace, just a few minutes from Fort-de-France, it offers a unique immersion into the heart of tropical nature. Created in 1982 by Jean-Philippe Thoze, the garden was developed around a Creole house steeped in history. It is home to over 3,000 tropical species, including rare palms, hibiscus, heliconias and porcelain roses. A veritable natural refuge, it is also a great place to spot many birds, including the emblematic hummingbirds. The suspended walkways in the canopy offer a spectacular experience at a height of almost 15 metres. They offer exceptional views over the bay of Fort-de-France and the Pitons du Carbet. A blend of biodiversity, heritage and Creole tradition, the Jardin de Balata will appeal to young and old alike. It's a place of discovery, contemplation and reconnection with nature. Habitation Ceron Le precheur

During a walk through the tropical forest, along a stream, discover the enchantment of a sumptuous flower-filled park, with age-old trees including an exceptional Zamana, listed as one of the largest visible trees in the Lesser Antilles, which covers almost a hectare of land with its foliage. The estate backs onto an Integral Biological Reserve and is included in a Listed Site for its landscapes. The northern Caribbean is known worldwide as a biodiversity hot spot. If you're observant, you'll be able to spot the yellow fal sucrier, the mader hummingbird, the spectacled thrush, the red-headed didine, the kayali, the malfini, the red partridge, the blue and green lizards and the cliff matoutou.

Jardin Remarquable De L'habitation Saint-Etienne Gros-morne

Be amazed by this remarkable 5-hectare garden surrounding the Habitation Saint-Étienne, nestling in the heart of the Gros-Morne commune. With the Lézarde River running through it, this unique botanical park is divided into a number of carefully designed themed areas. It is home to more than 180 species of plant, presented in a unique aesthetic setting: a soothing bamboo grove, a lush orchard, majestic horticultural trees and a wide variety of palm trees. All of this forms a living natural setting, inhabited by a rich and endemic fauna. Listed as a Historic Monument, the park is also a veritable open-air museum. Contemporary sculptures and monumental works of art line the route, creating a striking dialogue between art and nature.

Distillerie Depaz Saint-pierre

Built in 1635 by Jacques du Parquet, nephew of Belain d'Estambuc, the "La Montagne" estate was an example of a sugar-producing dwelling. In 1902, the eruption of Mount Pelée wiped out the town of Saint-Pierre, killing 30,000 people, including the entire Depaz family, and destroying the house. Victor Depaz, the only surviving member of the family, who was studying in Bordeaux at the time, decided to move back to the island and set about rebuilding the Depaz house, which had by then become a distillery. The distillery covers 80 hectares of volcanic land at the foot of Montagne Pelée, between the sea and the mountains. Its rum reflects the painstaking work that went into its creation, with its distinctive scents and flavours. The regularity of its production, the care taken in fermenting the cane juice and its volcanic terroir are all details that ensure the success of its agricultural rum. You can explore the distillery on a self-guided tour, in an exceptional setting overlooking Montagne Pelée. You'll see the island's oldest steam engine, an 18th-century beast mill and a small museum. The DEPAZ boutique is more than just a sales outlet. Above all, it is a privileged place for tasting DEPAZ rums, which the friendly and helpful team will help you to discover and appreciate. The entire range of DEPAZ rums is on offer, from whites such as the "Cuvée de la Montagne" to aged rums such as the XO Millésime 2002, Gold Medal winner at the Concours Général Agricole in 2019. In addition, some of the traditional local products are on display, such as the honey produced by the Château DEPAZ beehives.

Tips for photo sessions

Plan a "day-after" session. Without the pressure of the wedding timeline, you can travel to remote spots like Anse Couleuvre and take your time.
Mind the distances. The island is small, but roads are winding. Getting from the south coast to Anse Couleuvre in the far north takes a good part of a day.
Ask about permits. If you plan to fly a drone or install an arch or a hanging nest, get written authorisation, especially on public sites.
Check installations. The nest at Anse Michel and the Diamant swing are temporary fixtures, so ask your photographer whether they are still in place.
Bring a change of shoes. Sand, river stones and jungle paths are common, and the trek to some of the northern beaches involves 15 to 20 minutes of walking through the forest.

Creole cuisine is a highlight of any celebration here. Expect accras, colombo, grilled fish, boudin créole, tropical desserts and, of course, rum punch.
